Eagles Trade Darius Davidson To Penticton

The Surrey Eagles have announced that they have finalized a deal with the Penticton Vees on Tuesday night that will send assistant captain Darius Davidson (’96) to the Vees for future considerations.

Davidson has spent his entire three-year BCHL career with the club, amassing 84 points in 144 games, which includes his 11 goals and 14 assists in 30 games this season.

Along with being the Eagles’ leading scorer for the past year and a half, Davidson also holds the current longest ironman streak in the BCHL at 144 games and counting.

Eagles head coach Blaine Neufeld offered these thoughts behind the difficult, but important move for the team.

“We were able to complete a deal with Penticton that brought us in a number of great assets for our future which we are excited about.”

“It’s a move that allows us to maximize on a tough situation and will make us very strong contender in the future.”

In his final game with the Eagles, Davidson scored a goal and an assist against the Nanaimo Clippers on Sunday night, picking up Fortis BC Energy Player of the Game honours.

Coach Neufeld also expressed his gratitude for the way that Davidson played while he was a member of the team.

“We want to thank Darius for everything he has done for our organization over the past three years. We’ve watched him to develop into a dynamic player which is what our program is all about.”
