Teddy Prior Scores First BCHL Goal In First Game

It’s not often that an affiliated player makes a big impact on a BCHL team, but with the amount of injuries that the Surrey Eagles have had this season, the AP players have been relied on heavily. This was no different on Monday afternoon, as the Chilliwack Chiefs made their way to South Surrey Arena.

Teddy Prior, who plays with the Ridge Meadow Flames of the PJHL, was called up as an AP forward for the Eagles. Making his BCHL debut, the 19-year-old showed off his blazing speed by chasing down a loose puck that was pushed forward by Matthew McKim.

Chiefs goaltender Mathieu Caron thought about coming out to play it, but hesitated and was caught too far out of his crease. He scrambled in an attempt to get back in his net, but Prior’s speed was too much. Prior made a smooth move to his backhand and slipped it in for goal #1 of his junior A career.
