SECOND GAME NOT THE SAME

Eagles dropped 7-3

One night after taking the Eagles took their home opener, the Langley Chiefs returned the favour with a convincing 7-3 win.

The night featured the unveiling of Langley?s new uniforms and the atmosphere helped them to start strong.  The Chiefs led 2-1 after 1 with the Eagle goal coming from Morgan MacLean (2).

Langley scored the only marker of the second as Konrad Sander recorded his 2nd of the contest.

The third period saw two Eagles score their first BCHL goals as Mike Clements and Mike Henderson potted one each. In the end, Langley scored four times in the period to secure the win.

After the game the team was clearly not happy with their effort in the game.  ?We had way too many turnovers, especially at our own blue line,? head coach Shane Kuss said following the loss.  The Birds out hustled the Chiefs on Friday but the tables were turned on Saturday.  ?They out skated us in all zones and with that we didn?t compete hard enough.  Langley took advantage of that and made us pay.?

The Eagles next game is this Friday September 12 as the Powell River Kings are at the South Surrey Arena.  Get your tickets by phone at 604-531-GOAL or at the Arena box office.
