Player Spotlight – Paul McAvoy

Paul McAvoy – #5

A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Paul McAvoy is one of five Americans currently on the Surrey Eagles roster. This is his first season with the team after spending last season with the Connecticut Oilers of the EHL. He is the team’s second-highest scorer, with 25 points so far in the 2015-2016 season.

McAvoy was named captain in December, and has excelled with the added responsibilities. He is a lead-by-example type of player, and will never shy away from any situation on the ice. He is a centre that possesses breakaway speed, and his intelligent playmaking skills free up time and space for his wingers.
