Eagles Soar To 8-1 Win Against Powell River

Burnaby, B.C. – On a beautiful Saturday afternoon inside the Scotia Barn, the Surrey Eagles (3-2-0) started strong and never relented as they trounced the Powell River Kings (2-3-0) by a score of 8-1. The Eagles never trailed and scored 6 unanswered to help their starter Max Prazma earn his first career BCHL win.

Cam Keith was impressed with how his group played today. “The guys played within themselves and utilized each other in a full team effort.” A full team effort it was, as the Eagles got goals from 7 different players. Katzalay led the charge with 2 goals and an assist, while Jimmy Darby had 3 assists.

Holden Cardinal and Tait Ross both scored their first career BCHL goals, while Jacob Slipec, Michael Abgrall, Buddy Johnson, and Brett Bliss also scored in the contest for Surrey. Ethan Riesterer was the lone goal scorer for Powell River.

For the Eagles, Cam believes this win could propel them through the 2021 Pod Season presented by Shaw. “When it’s a full team win and everyone contributes, it’s a step in the right direction for our group.”

Making his 2nd career BCHL start, Prazma was great from start to finish for his first career BCHL win. Cam “…was happy for Prazma to be able to showcase himself and earn his first win. He was in complete control and looked very comfortable.”

The Eagles don’t have much time to rest on their laurels, as the team is back in action tomorrow afternoon against the Coquitlam Express (2-1-1). Puck drop is slated for 1:00 pm inside the Scotia Barn and you can catch all the action on BCHL TV (Powered by HockeyTV) and on Mixlr.com/eaglesbchl.
