EAGLES HOME OPENER PARTY!!!

All of the details for the home opener on Friday, September 5th have been finalized and they will combine to equal a fantastic night at South Surrey Arena. The Eagles hope to play in front of a full house to start the 2008/09 season off on the right foot. All families, hockey nuts, and people missing the sweet sounds, smells, and excitement of Eagles action need to attend. The festivities will begin outside the arena box office at 6pm. Music, food, celebrity guests, giveaways, and exciting hockey action will get this season started off right. Buy your tickets at any Surrey Safeway location or come early to the box office to ensure a prime seat.

At 6pm, the pre-game party will feature DJ Party Ken getting the crowd pumped up for the beginning of the game. There will also be a BBQ with hamburgers and drinks to keep everyone?s energy up. Kids will also be able to create their own custom signs to cheer on the home team.

The ceremonies at the start of the game will begin at 7pm sharp, so make sure you are in your seat for the introductions of the 08/09 Eagles, and the ceremonial opening face-off. We will have two distinguished guests dropping the puck, and both have made huge impacts in our community.

Mark Madryga is the main weekday morning meteorologist on the Global Morning News. The Senior Meteorologist is a current resident of the South Surrey area and is active at White Rock Chamber of Commerce events.     

Colton Gillies is a product of Semiahmoo Minor Hockey who was on the 2008 Canadian World Junior Championship team. In the 2007 NHL Draft, he was picked 16th overall by the Minnesota Wild. He is a great role model for kids in this community and is striving to be on the opening day roster of the Wild this season.

The game night sponsor of opening night is Beaver Buzz Energy Drinks. Be sure the try the different flavors of Buzz on the concourse and be ready to win lots of Buzz gear throughout the night.

Be sure to stick around at the end of the game to meet and greet the Surrey Eagles for an autograph session. The souvenir booth will be open post game to get your Eagles merchandise signed by possibly some future NHL stars like former Eagle Scott Gomez.
