11-Goal Outburst Powers Eagles in Merritt

The Surrey Eagles traveled to Merritt on Wednesday night, and brought the big guns with them.

After being shut out in their previous game against Wenatchee, the Eagles’ pent-up offense exploded for 11 goals, propelling the team to an 11-8 win over the Merritt Centennials.

Jeffrey Stewart (3G, 3A) and Tyler Andrews (3G) both notched hat-tricks, and captain John Wesley also added two goals to the mix. In total, the Eagles received goals from six different players, and ten different players recorded at least one point.

Daniel Davidson started in goal, and made 40 saves to pick up his fourth win of the season. He has been in goal for four of the Eagles’ five wins this season.

With the win, the Eagles take the season series against Merritt with two wins in their three meetings.

The team’s next game comes on Friday, at home against West Kelowna. Game time is 7PM, and tickets are available now.
