With September 8th’s home opener rapidly approaching, the Surrey Eagles are making their final preparations for training camp and the opening of their exhibition schedule.
Main camp begins on Monday, August 21st at South Surrey Arena. Fans can come to the rink and check out the makings of an exciting roster that could possibly include as many as 20 returning players from last season. Three Eagles players graduated from junior hockey at the end of last year and will not be returning: Points leader Darius Davidson (committed to AIC), former captain Paul McAvoy (committed to Colgate) and goaltender Keelan Williams (committed to York University).
The exhibition schedule opens up on Saturday, August 26th vs the Langley Rivermen at South Surrey Arena. Game time is 7 PM, and it is free admission for all spectators.
Their second exhibition game will take place on Wednesday, August 30th vs the Coquitlam Express, also at South Surrey Arena. Game time is 8 PM, and it is once again free admission for all spectators.
The Eagles will then travel to Coquitlam on September 1st for an exhibition game at the Port Coquitlam Rec Centre, before finally wrapping up the pre-season on September 2nd at South Surrey Arena for their final tune-up game against the Chilliwack Chiefs. Game time is also 7 PM for the last game.
