Soaring With Our Sponsors: White Rock Volkswagen

Surrey, BC – While the Surrey Eagles have made massive improvements during the 2019-20 B.C Hockey League season to return to competitiveness, the road hasn’t been easy. However, with a new head coach in Cam Keith, new systems, and 21 new players the team has turned the team around and are gearing up for a post-season run. What hasn’t changed over the years has been the support of a number of key sponsors who have supported the team through thick and thin. As such, we’re taking a look at a number of businesses and organizations who have taken care of us while we’ve rebuilt our organization. Today, we’re soaring with White Rock Volkswagen.

Right off the hop, Rob was asked how long he’s been sponsoring the team and what he provides for the organization. “I’ve been a sponsor the last couple years, we provide the team with transportation, most recently a new Volkswagen Atlas which you guys use to get to events and away games.” When asked what it means to support the local team, Rob was quick to answer. “I think it’s great! Anytime you get the chance to support anything, especially sports teams, young people trying to make their way in the community. It’s a great cause and I think more people should get behind it.”

Rob also pointed out becoming a sponsor of the team has been mutually beneficial for both groups. “I just thought it was a great opportunity, both for the team associating with a dealership in the area for over 40 years. As well as for us, being able to support a great junior hockey team. It’s a great partnership for both of us.”

It hasn’t always been rosy, but Rob has been happy to support the team through thick and thin. “It’s awesome, it brings a level of excitement that we haven’t seen in the community. Hopefully it helps draws some more people in and draw some more support.” Rob’s relationship with the team has been strong as well. “It’s been a good one. Blaine is a great guy, easy to deal with and be around. It says a lot for the team that he’s like that, lots of other people in the organization are like that. Speaks volumes how the entire organization carries themselves.” Rob plans to visit more games as the season starts to wind to a close.

Thank you White Rock Volkswagen for your years of support, and we’re looking forward to seeing Rob and his staff around The Nest throughout the remainder of the season and into the playoffs.
