Schiavon Earns Commitment To Yale University

The Surrey Eagles are proud to announce that Cody Schiavon has committed to Yale University for the 2020-21 season. The defenceman made it official with a post on social media on Tuesday night. Schiavon was also named the Eagles captain for the 2019-20 season on Friday.

With this announcement Schiavon becomes the fourth current member of the Eagles to solidify a commitment to a NCAA Division I school. He joins the newly-acquired Cristophe Tellier (Quinnipiac), and new recruits Owen Nolan (Army) and Cade Alami (Providence).

He is the third Eagles player in the franchise’s history to earn a commitment to Yale University. He is now part of a group that includes former players Dan O’Keefe and Charles Orzetti. O’Keefe suited up for 70 games with Eagles in 2012-13 before spending four years at the university, while Orzetti appeared in 51 games in 2011-12 before also completing four seasons with Yale.

Congratulations to Cody on this huge achievement!
