Surrey Eagles Soar to Victory with Two Impressive Home Wins

The Surrey Eagles took their home ice by storm this past weekend, notching two huge victories against coastal conference opponents, much to the delight of the over 2000 enthusiastic fans who gathered at the South Surrey Arena this weekend.

Friday Night Lights: Surrey Eagles vs. Langley Rivermen (5-2)

The weekend's success began on Friday night as the Surrey Eagles clashed with the Langley Rivermen. In a dominating game, the Surrey Eagles showcased their offensive prowess, securing a big 5-2 victory.

Ryan Comishock set the tone with an early goal 11:57 into the first period, swiftly followed by Aaron Schwartz, who found the back of the net 19:40 into the same period.


The second period continued the excitement, with Liam Tanner extending the lead 04:15 into the middle frame. Arvega Hovsepyan made it 4-0 just over a minute later, putting the Surrey Eagles in full control. The Langley Rivermen managed to find their rhythm in the third period, but it was Zach Wagnon who sealed the deal with a goal at 11:09, securing the Eagles' 5-2 victory. Colton Jugnauth was lights out making 29 saves to earn his first career BCHL win.

Sunday's Showdown: Surrey Eagles vs. Coquitlam Express (4-2)

Sunday afternoon brought another fun encounter as the Surrey Eagles faced off against the Coquitlam Express. The Surrey Eagles showed resilience and determination in this matinee match, emerging victorious with a 4-2 win.

The Eagles' early dominance was apparent when Liam Tanner opened the scoring just 34 seconds into the game. Ryan Schelling added to the excitement with a goal 15:47 into the first period, giving the home team a 2-0 lead.

As the game wore on, the Coquitlam Express made a valiant effort to claw their way back into the game. However, the Eagles' defense remained poised and steady heading into the third period tier 2-2.

Jaidan Sharma was able to weather the storm of shots from the Express and Rylan Bonkowski broke the tie 6:32 into the final period giving the Eagles a 3-2 lead.


Arvega Hovsepyan was able to put the game out of reach with an empty net goal in the final minutes.

These back-to-back victories were a testament to the Surrey Eagles teamwork, and determination. The entire team played hard and it was rewarded with four big points.

Next up for the Eagles - Friday night at home against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
