White Rock Native Grayden Slipec Commits To North Dakota

Surrey, B.C. – The Surrey Eagles are proud to congratulate White Rock native and 16 year old Grayden Slipec on his commitment to the University Of North Dakota in the NCAA. The NCAA division 1 commitment is the 2nd for the Eagles this season, after older brother Jacob Slipec committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha earlier this fall.

The young forward has been a standout junior player throughout his entire hockey career. His last full season saw him put up a ridiculous 26 goals and 47 assists for 70 points in just 30 games played in the CSSHL as a 14 year old. So far in his rookie BCHL season, Grayden has 2 assists in 2 games.

For the young White Rock native, he’s excited about going to North Dakota after the BCHL. “I feel really good, and I’m really happy to go there. It was an amazing experience being there. It’s a special place, and I’m happy to be a part of it.

When asked why he chose North Dakota over the rest of the schools vying for his services, Grayden just knew it was where he wanted to go. “I visited a few schools, but when I visited North Dakota it just felt right. When I was in the rink and walking around I just knew it was the place I wanted to go to and my family and I made it happen.”

For the fiery North Dakota commit, his main goal is to win before heading off to school as he develops his game. “I want to be ready for the NCAA. I just want to win, I don’t really care about my points, and it doesn’t matter to [North Dakota]. I want play a strong 200 foot game and win some games.”

Congratulations on your commitment Grayden!
