Manage to somehow stop Eric Linell on a breakaway? It doesn’t matter, because Ty Westgard has his back.
Wenatchee Wild goaltender Austin Park came up with the big first save on Saturday night, but it was Westgard following up the play, depositing the rebound for his second goal of the game, and his second goal of the 2018-19 season. The exciting moment brought fans to their feet at South Surrey Arena.
The Eagles didn’t manage to get the victory, unfortunately, as the Wild would strike five times in the second period in an eventual 6-3 win. Surrey is still searching for their first win of the season after dropping the first two games on home ice to start the year. Their next opportunity comes Tuesday night in Merritt against the Centennials.
