Surrey Acquires BCHL Rights To Defenseman Cullen Ferguson

Surrey, B.C, – The Surrey Eagles have acquired the BCHL playing rights of defenseman Cullen Ferguson (01) from the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Ferguson is the player to be named later in the trade which saw Surrey send Sean Ramsay to Cowichan Valley in September of 2020.

Ferguson spent last season playing down south in the NAHL with the Aberdeen Wings. In 36 games with Aberdeen, he scored 6 goals and had 21 points with 87 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, Ferguson had 4 assists in 7 games. Ferguson is a left shot defenseman, and is committed to Union College in the NCAA.

For Ferguson’s BCHL career which spanned 1 season in 2019-20 with the Capitals, Ferguson scored 1 goal and added 12 assists in 56 games. Ferguson also had an assist in the 5 game series win the Capitals had over the Powell River Kings before the season was prematurely shut down that season.
