Stewart’s Pair Leads Eagles To Game 3 Victory

Jeffrey Stewart scored two goals and John Wesley added a goal and two assists as the Surrey Eagles took a 2-1 series lead over the Prince George Spruce Kings after a 5-1 home victory Monday night.

Aaron White got Surrey on the board in the first period and Stewart extended the team’s lead to two on a goal 30 seconds into the second frame. Ben Brar replied two minutes later for Prince George, but Jackson Ross, Stewart and Wesley each scored to give the Eagles the 5-1 win.

Eagles goaltender Mario Cavaliere stopped 30 of 31 shots and was named the game’s first star. With his three points tonight, Wesley moves into a tie for second in BCHL playoff scoring with 11 points. Game four goes Tuesday night in Surrey at 7 p.m.
