The Surrey Eagles were shorthanded a few players on Sunday afternoon due to multiple injuries and a suspension. As a result, forward John Evans of the Delta Hockey Academy was inserted into the lineup. The 16-year-old did not disappoint, scoring his first BCHL goal in his fourth game.
Even more remarkably, Evans was appearing in his second game of the day, having already played earlier for his academy team. The South Surrey native is putting up some spectacular numbers with the academy, recording 9 goals and 17 assists in 13 games so far.
