Jake Toor scores a hat-trick in his 100th career BCHL game

It was an exciting afternoon of hockey in Coquitlam on Wednesday, as the Eagles faced off against the Express at noon for a “school day game.” With the odd start time, it was almost assured that the game would have some crazy and unexpected moments.

Jake Toor was playing in his 100th career BCHL game against his former club, and came out with a vengeance. He scored his first career hat-trick in the game – with the first goal coming on a rebound in front of the net, second on a shot from below the goal line, and third on a breakaway through the five-hole. It was a memorable afternoon for him, and for the Eagles who picked up an important point in the standings with an overtime loss.

“It was a special day to begin with, playing in my 100th game, but I definitely had some extra jump in my step and it worked out,” Toor said in an interview the following day. “It’s tough dropping the game in OT, but we got 3 out of 4 points in the last couple of games, and those are points that we need to keep inching toward a playoff spot.”
