Former Junior Eagle Trent Wilson Commits To Eagles For 2021-22

Surrey, B.C. – The Surrey Eagles are proud to announce forward Trent Wilson (04) has committed to the team for the 2021-22 season. Wilson is a former member of the Junior Eagles and is the first player recruited out of the Eagles spring ID camp hosted in the beginning of July.

Wilson, a Tsawwassen, B.C. native joins the Eagles after spending a few seasons with the Delta Hockey Academy. In Wilson’s last full season with the Wild, he put up 18 goals and 41 points in 37 games while playing with the U16 team. Last year in a short stint with the U18 team, Wilson had 2 points and a goal in 4 games before his season was shut down due to the global pandemic.

When asked about his commitment to the team, Trent admitted it was a quick choice. “It was a pretty easy decision for me. Being close to home and being able to stay with my family was important to me. I’ve heard great things about the organization and coaching staff so I knew it was where I wanted to play.”

For Wilson, being able to graduate from a Junior Eagle into a full-time player in the BCHL is a huge step for him. “It’s pretty cool Cam has given me the opportunity to prove myself to this team. Making it out of spring camp feels great, there was a lot of tough competition there and I’m excited to get the season started.”

For Eagles fans who haven’t seen him play, Trent believes he’ll “…be able to produce goals every night for the Eagles. I’m a pretty creative player, and I’ll be able to set up plays or utilize my good shot.”

Welcome to the flock Trent!
