One would think making a cross town trip to play your cross town rivals with back to back
games would be an easy task considering the first game seemed like an easy two points.
Well think again as heading into the rink on Porier on Remembrance Day saw the Express start
Hamm, while the Eagles changed things up starting Davidson, but nothing is guaranteed.
This night saw the Express jump out to an early lead at 5:08 with Delorme getting his second of
the season with Ambrosio notching his 10th assist, only to be followed by a second marker a
short 1:11 later with Bruce working magic while playing shorthanded allowing the Express to
jump out to a 2-0 lead.
As we have seen in the past the Eagles fought hard and returned the favour with Masellis
notching his third of the season after being set-up from Robert with him collecting his 6th assist
of the season.
The back end continues to explode in all areas and on this night a short 2:26 after Masellis got
the Eagles on the board it was Babichuk and Wesley who fed Norton seeing him collect his first
of the season while on the PP rounding out the first.
The first saw some “chippy” play with the Express taking five of the six penalties, with the more
concerning penalty assessed to Express player Lucas Wong getting a Major for Kneeing plus the
Automatic Game Misconduct, giving the Eagles a major boost of confidence also notching one
while on the PP.
For some it might be hard to believe the score would be tied at two after one period especially
considering that the Eagles outshot the Express by a commanding 18-7 and both teams trading
three minors.
While it was hard to believe it clearly had everyone talking with many questioning if the Express
could manage to pull out a “W” on home ice, considering the last home ice win (2-1) was
October 13th against Langley.
The Eagles have a mindset of never-say-never, so climbing back is nothing new, so on this night
it would see them do it all over again controlling the shot department (29-14) after two.
While the battle of cat and mouse continued the Eagles were confident heading into the third and
it wasn’t until the 6:06 mark that White collected his 5th of the season with Sundquist and Danol
playing set-up men from the back-end.
With the clock ticking down the Express pulled Hamm in favour of an extra attacker, but were
foiled.
With the net empty Brushett managed an empty net goal at 19:35 with assists going to Stewart
who collected his 10th of the season and Westgard keeping his streak alive notching his 27th
assist of the season.

This night saw the Eagles go 2-8 on the PP, while the Express were 1-3 in special teams, as the
Eagles outshot the Express by a tally of 40-22.
Two out of three games see’s the Eagles grab an additional four points in the standings moving
up on both Prince George and Chilliwack, who they face in less than 24 hours back on home ice
at 4 pm.
