Cole Edgerton Acquired By Eagles From Express

The Surrey Eagles have made a major move prior to the 2019 junior hockey roster deadline, sending their captain Ty Westgard and the playing rights to forward Aaron White to the Coquitlam Express in exchange for 1999-born forward Cole Edgerton and future considerations.

Edgerton has racked up 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points in his first BCHL season. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Edgerton is a native of Morris Plains, New Jersey and played the last two season for the North Jersey Avalanche.

Ty Westgard joins the Express after having played his entire 160-game BCHL career with the Surrey Eagles.  He amassed 159 points in those 160 games. With 10 goals and 24 assists, he was the leading scorer for the team this season. As a 1998-born player, this is his final year of junior hockey, and the trade allows him to join a team that is primed for a long playoff run.
