Another First: Pecchia Gets Goal #1

One day after Jason Chu scored his first career BCHL goal for the Surrey Eagles, forward Matteo Pecchia joined the club by scoring his first against the Wenatchee Wild. Pecchia gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead on Saturday night, only 34 seconds after the Wild had tied the game at two.

Matthew McKim and Brandon Santa Juana both received assists on the goal, which was the first BCHL point for both players. McKim kept the puck in at the blue line with some fancy footwork, as his stick was tied up by a Wild player. After he kicked it toward the hashmark, Pecchia picked it up and threw a shot on goal. The puck eluded goaltender Austin Park on the blocker side, hitting the mesh. Park was removed from the game after allowing the goal.
