Aaron White Completes Hat-Trick In Loss To Merritt

The Surrey Eagles had quite the experience on their first road trip of the 2018-19 season, heading to Merritt to face the Centennials. The team bus had a mechanical failure on the highway, causing a two-hour delay in the team’s arrival to the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

The game was delayed until 7:30 PM, giving the Eagles minimal time to prepare. The Centennials exploded for four goals in the second period to pull up 5-1, but the Eagles started to respond in the third, starting with Corey Clifton’s first BCHL goal. Eric Linell also scored his second goal of the season.

Then it was the Aaron White show. White scored the next three goals in a row for the Eagles, notching his first career BCHL hat-trick and his first three goals of the season. The third goal pulled the Eagles within one goal of tying the game and erasing the massive deficit. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t get another one with the four minutes remaining in the game despite pulling the goalie and having a powerplay with one minute left to play.
