Matthew Campese Commits To Brock University

The Surrey Eagles hockey club is pleased to announce that forward Matthew Campese has committed to Brock University. He will continue his hockey career with the Brock Badgers beginning in the 2018-19 USports season.

Campese was acquired by the Eagles in a mid-season trade in 2017-18 from the West Kelowna Warriors. He became an instant leader, scoring 20 points in 28 regular season games – then added 10 points in 12 games in the playoffs.

He cemented his name in Eagles history by scoring the series-winning goal in overtime over the Langley Rivermen in game six of their first round series this post-season. He is also remembered for scoring a hat-trick against the Chilliwack Chiefs on his 20th birthday (December 10th, 2017).

“We are extremely proud of Matthew and his commitment to Brock University,” said Eagles head coach Brandon West. “He was a key factor on our team this season and was phenomenal in the playoffs. Brock is getting a first-class person. We’re very excited for him.”

The 20-year-old Campese finishes his junior career as a veteran of 56 BCHL and 130 WHL games played.

Congratulations and good luck with your new team, Matthew!
