Eagles can't solve Maguire, fall 3-0 in game 1
Wednesday, March 28, 2012 - Submitted by Dan Marshall
The Surrey Eagles dropped Game 1 of the Coastal Conference Final to the Powell River Kings on Tuesday.

It's the first time in the post season the Eagles have trailed in a series.

Former Cowichan Valley Capital Brendon McDonald opened the scoring at 5:49 of the first to give the Kings a 1-0 lead.

Powell River added two more in the second period with Cohen Adair tallying at 6:21 and Evan Richardson rounding out the scoring at 14:43.

The Kings came out firing at goalie Andrew Hunt who faced 49 shots on net.

Surrey mustered 26 on Sean Maguire.

There were only three power plays in the game with the Kings going 0/2 and the Eagles failed to score on their only man advantage.

Forward Trevor Cameron made his return to the Surrey lineup but Brandon Morley was unable to play.

Game 2 is Wednesday at the Hap Parker Arena.
