Finally after months of preparation and planning, the revamped Surrey Eagles will take to the ice this Friday in their 20th season home opener. There is plenty of buzz around the community which will make the festivities at South Surrey Arena so exciting. Director of Sales and Marketing Kyle Bryan explains to plans for September 10th,
"The festivities begin at 5:30pm and will include music, a BBQ from M&M Meats, Face painting, and the new ownership group will be greeting all the season ticket holders and Eagles fans. Canucks anthem singer Mark Donnelly will sing the national anthem. As well, the TEAM 1040 will broadcast live before, during, and after the game at South Surrey Arena including full play-by-play with Blake Price and Jeff Paterson. This is arguably the biggest game of the season and it will be a huge kick off to our 20th season in Surrey."
As with the last half dozen home openers, the Birds take on Fraser Valley rival Langley Chiefs in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday nights.
